WE, THE PEOPLE OF
INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST
SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all its citizens…
These are the lines
from the Preamble of our Constitution. We have declared our nation a secular
country. Is it so? Almost every day when I go through the news paper there will
be some or the other news on communal clashes; caste based politics; new
subsidies, quotas which create differences and many other disgraceful events
that are happening across the country. Recently Dadri Incident had raised
doubts on our ‘Unity in Diversity’. We are facing many problems which we need
to tackle as a nation but instead we are fighting among ourselves for the sake
of worth less religion or cast. Religion is created to bind ourselves to some
rules so that we do not commit mistakes at least in the fear of God.
Unfortunately we are using religion to fight among ourselves in the name of
God. I do agree that there are some ideologies which contradict each other’s
religious sentiments but we need to be mature enough to understand that human
relationships and mutual cooperation is above all sentiments. After all we live
in the same country, follow same path while traveling to our destinations. I do
not think any God of any religion will encourage violence, if anyone is there
to encourage we do not call him God. I
personally believe that there only one such supernatural power, that is Nature.
If we protect the Nature it will allow us to survive if we try and destroy it
will destroy us and if we fight among ourselves it will never bother to help.
Every individual has to follow the same routine cycles like eating, sleeping
etc in order to survive, then why these differences? We had right to follow any
religion, this is secularism. We do not have right to hate other religions,
this is also secularism. These are the initial thoughts that are to be injected
in the young minds before we teach any other principles. If this had been done
there would not be a situation that is present in Syria or in Dadri. Caste
system is another social barrier persisting in our country since ages. I do not
understand this concept of caste, the basis on which they divided people. Whatever
it may be today it has been a disgrace to my country. Today I question the
previous generation who often comments about present generation ‘Aren’t you ashamed of differentiating people on the basis
of cast? Aren’t ashamed of injecting the idea of cast in the present
generation? ‘. I would call these people who created differences among us
on the basis of cast as ‘ The Educated Illiterates
’ We all know the meaning of dignity of labour, we know the importance of every occupation in this
society, the why this discrimination? We need to step out of these boundaries,
respect every individual and unite to fight against corruption, poverty, illiteracy
and unemployment. Jai Hind. Satyamevajayate.
