Who is a LEADER ?

Leadership, this is a very familiar word which we come across many times. In simple way a leader is the one who leads a team towards their 'goal' in a 'correct way'. How many of us saw true leaders? As soon as I ask this question at a conference or a gathering, people start thinking about others some time they try making fun by naming others. Did any one of us started seeing an leader in our-self ? Very few might have thought like that, anyway I congratulate all those who at least made an attempt to see a leader in him and I urge them to continue that desire to lead and certainly there will be a day when people accept you and most importantly we need true leaders to take the nation back on track laid by our constitution. Recently I had attended a lecture given by Shri Krishna Murthy, former Election Commissioner of India where he shared his opinion about leadership, problems and challenges in bureaucracy in our country. Mr Krishna Murthy is known for his sincerity, under him election commission successfully conducted various elections of different levels facing various challenges including the threats by politicians. In this article I wanted to share his words which help us to build our-self to be a leader or at least a citizen who is responsible towards his/her country. According to him the prime qualities to be a leader are Art of listening, Art of speaking, Art of taking decisions, Art of questioning and finally patience. Let me explain each of these qualities in my own words may not be as influencing as our former election commissioner but in a way to make you understand the exact sense of his thoughts.

Art Of Listening:

As a leader you should be able to listen to opinions of your team mates and some times even to the opinions of the one who opposes you. You should be able to understand, analyse their opinions and take a step to improve if is necessary. You should always be ready to face the failures and the negative opinions on your leadership. You should take in all positives from the people around you and drop out the negatives in you. Finally you should never have any ego to appreciate others when they are better than you.

Art Of Speaking:

As a leader your way of speaking determines your character. You should be very thoughtful while speaking especially in giving your opinion about something. One should be very high in the language they use, not too emotional and keeping an eye on all feelings. You should not force your decisions on others but you should be able to convince them with out hurting their feelings and thus enhancing the team spirit. Your communication may be your your strength and also weakness, you are the one who should guide it.

Art Of Questioning:

This shows your real guts as a leader. One should be able to question injustice or some thing wrong committed by any one either superior officers or the ones under you. Your relation with the accused should not effect your decision. At least on your part you should never allow any injustice happening in your reach even at the cost of your position or life. Your life may end at any time and as a leader especially bureaucrat you should leave things for granted even at the cost of your life. This is the one earns you thrust and faith on you by others at least your team. You should be very alert and never let any thing go past your control. You should be bold but not harsh. You can question but the way you question determines the way they answer. A sincere officer or a leader must be ready to face any thing even the worst situation in his life but never loose his/her hope.

Art Of Taking Decisions:

The decision which you make very important as it influences the others too. Any decision that you take must not create any harm or injustice to others. You should be able to answer the questions raised against your decision. Not only taking the right ones but right time is also very important factor. You should act in time before the train leaves the platform and it is also important that you will not act before the train arrives at the platform. You should be bold in your decisions leaving no scope for personal emotions.

Patience:

I may have quoted this quality at last but it accompanies with every quality I have mentioned earlier. You should have patience in listening, patience in explaining, patience in taking decisions and patience in waiting for the results. You should never loose your hope and as quoted in the old saying Try and Try till you reach your GOAL.

India Vs Pakistan ... It is not just about the sport. It is something more....

Many of us may think that this day as day of an another India Pakistan clash. We often tend to forget the national integrity that it develops among us. On this day don't bother about our religions, we don't bother casts, we don't bother about our language, state. We all unite in supporting Team India. This shows our unity and diversity. Hindus pray to Eeshwar, Christians to Jesus, Muslims to Allah. Gods and the way they pray may be different but they all pray for Team India's victory. This is the time where we show our culture and love towards the nation. I hope even corrupted ministers, officers support our country. We need to think big and support our country in various fields and make our country a super power destroying all those forces who try to divide the holy land on the name of religion, cast or by any other means. Aren't we matured enough to think in a way that enhances the country's development and national integrity ?????

We Think... We Unite.... We are Team India... Only 11 may be on field but there are more than 100 crores to back them up in all situations and support our country to go past all the hurdles.

My Story

Every one had difficult times in their life when you might have felt depressed, some kind of feeling like some unknown force in this universe is keep on trying to crush you, your dreams. You might have felt severe humiliation, insult, assault from fellow human beings whom you might have believed in the most. Finally you might have ended up in a situation where you might be thinking of leaving this world, this is the most important phase of your life and this is where you will be tested by the life. Unfortunately many of capable warriors who can pass this test are being killed by its enemy 'Mind Set'. Many innocent lives are taken away by mental illness, mental instability, severe depression and is one of a serious health issue in our nation. This is the time to Change in every aspect, improve in every field and hence in this case. Let us express our self take away the weight from our heart and hence attain mental stability. In my childhood I had faced severe humiliation, I was fat and I am unable to pronounce some words properly, my voice remained childish and never attained maturity. Fellow students  used to mock at me. I was very fat and so I always used to loose especially in sports. I was very sensitive and sometimes felt awkward depressed gazing at myself before a mirror. But I was strong enough to be happy recognizing the love my parents showed towards me and many of my friend liked me inspite of my awkward structure. Soon I had got answers to my depression. When I left my school left my sensitive behavior and never cried there after. When I was in to my engineering I lost my weight and my friends became more fatter than me and my childish voice and my condition of not able to pronounce some words turned in to a gift for me so that most of the people used to like my behavior, voice and you may not believe, today I have the most number of friends in my college than all others. Most of them may have ego feelings and clashes between them but till date I do not have any enemies in my college. Every one likes me and treats me as a child with so much of love and care. This is all because of the strength which I attained because of my friends, parents, their love and affection. When we feel depressed and thinking of ending our lives, we should be able to realize that our life is not only important to us but is equally important to every one who trusted us. I hope this one thought can CHANGE our lives.#A Healthy Mind makes things different. Jai Hind. Satyamevajayate.

My INDIA My Responsibilities....

India, the name itself has something in it or may be I am very much attached to it. We all have that something towards our nation but unfortunately we don't realize it early and by the time we realize we may not have opportunity to serve our nation. We all support our nation when coming to any sports and games, that reflects our respect and love towards our country, but we often forget it in our daily routine and we misinterpret serving the nation as some sacrifice or doing something extra ordinary such as joining armed forces etc. We need to come out these sort of mind sets. Serving the nation can be achieved in every single task you do and we need to in order to make our country better. For example if we are a student you need to think that the way you progress in your life may change nation's fate, you may become a scientist to empower science and technology growth for your country, you may be a farmer who produces food for the country, you may be a engineer to apply science to design new products and empower economical growth of your country, you may be a doctor who takes care of your country's health, you may be a philosopher who can inject the people with the real idea of India as mentioned in our constitution or any other profession you choose, your sincerity towards your profession shows your service and respect towards your nation. We can render our services to nation on a daily basis by keeping our roads, railway stations, bus stands clean by using dust bins provided. We should be mature enough to accept the equality and respect the dignity of each individual irrespective of their religion or cast or profession. Most of us does not bother of our cast when we need something from others, for example when are working in a company we do not care whether the CEO of the company belongs to our cast or not but when we wanted a relation ship such as marriage we see the cast, religion forgetting the education that we have got. This is where the difference comes between Literacy and just mere education. We all praise Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Swami Vivekananda but never follow their teachings when coming to real life. Judge a person by his character not by his colour, this is a famous quote given by Martin Luther King. In India we judge a person by his religion and cast which is even worst. Years passed since we got our independence but still the discrimination prevails in our country which act as a social barrier for our development. Every individual born on this holy land should be given equal opportunity to excel in his abilities and make his life better. We should stop discriminating among ourselves and try to achieve the dreams of our heroes who sacrificed themselves to set this country free. We should accept our responsibilities, respect our culture, constitution and let our upcoming generations to know the struggle, glory of the nation maintaining our unique identity among the world nations.
