Women Empowerment...

             These days there are so many discussions, debates on these topic. Government of India also recognized the importance of  'Women Empowerment' in today's society where each gender is trying to dominate the other in some way or the other. There are people who do not know the meaning of 'Women Empowerment' also started debating and discussing on the topic. The worst thing is that we also tend to follow their opinions and on the other hand condemn them. There is a world saying 'Follow what you preach' but we 'Preach what we do not follow'. Women Empowerment is some thing different than what most of us actually think. It is not just giving them choice of dressing but it actually giving them a way to lead their life in their own terms giving them equal importance as we give to boys. There are woman in this society who are made to crush their dreams and are leading a life like in prison especially in the villages of our country, but when ever we talk about 'Women Empowerment' we talk about choice of dressing, choice of roaming on roads and attending parties etc. There are more serious issues than these like I mentioned earlier. Some of the women in our country are not allowed to study what they wanted, only reason being that they are women. There are women who are not allowed to come out of kitchen and leading their life breathing the warm air of the stove. There are women who face domestic violence at their homes. There is still female foeticide prevailing in our country. Child marriages, Dowry system are still ruling our thoughts in  the form of customs. We tend to forget these major issues while discussing on women empowerment and focus on dressing style, hair style etc. There are women who complain that their parents will not allow them to wear modern dresses and say that it is their choice. We need to understand that your's is just a choice but your parents have the responsibility to protect you and responsibility always has a greater priority than your choice. Women empowerment is giving them protection, importance and equal opportunities in the society to lead their lives. Women empowerment is protecting mothers and baby girls reducing infanticides and female foeticide. Women empowerment is to give her confidence that this society is still there for her and respects her even if she looses her sole mate. Women empowerment is providing them with opportunities in every field. Women empowerment is to show this world that our mother land is the safest place for woman where she can receive respect equal to a mother. We salute our women by calling our country a mother. We salute them by treating many rivers in our country as goddess. Today's generation should understand what actually is women empowerment and its not as easy as to say 'My Choice' but it is a responsibility of every Indian both men and women to achieve women empowerment.   

My India's Daughter...

      I think we are all familiar with the title which I have kept to this article. This is title given to the the documentary which is released by BBC on a case study of an atrocity against a woman in Delhi except that I have added the word 'My'. 'My' indicates my responsibility towards the issue that took place in my mother land. Let me split up this article in to two different messages, one to so called best news channel BBC and other to us ( Indians ).

To BBC :

                   The efforts which you have taken to make this world aware of the plight of a woman are appreciable but the way you have carried out the issue from keeping the title to the interviews of the kind of persons shown in the documentary are very heart breaking and disgusting. I am very sorry to say that the title ' India's Daughter ' shows your irresponsibility towards a woman despite of knowing the fact that most of the women are facing the same across the world. The title you have chosen seems to mock at out nation more than your responsibility towards a woman. You had taken interviews of culprits and lawyers of those culprits who portrayed their inhumane views in the documentary which are irrelevant to the society, rather you should have taken the views of general citizens on such issues and asked about their responsibility as a citizen. This might have encouraged them to change towards being a responsible citizens. More over I wanted inform you that this is not the first time we have seen a documentary like that, we have questioned our self in a show called Satyamevajayate on fighting such atrocities and our responsibilities as a society towards a change in a more inspiring manner which gave importance to the victims view than that of culprits. I respect your nation and woman as it is my nation's culture and do not want to talk about the situation in your country, I am also concerned that this issue is a global problem and it is not the time to mock at each other. We are always the sons of such a mother land which gave birth to a legends like Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekananda who always put on their efforts for universal brotherhood, may be some times we tend to forget it resulting in outrageous situations. We as a nation feel sad for that.

To Us : 

                  More than any thing else we gave a chance to others to mock at us. Imagine if some one like Swami Vivekananda is alive today and the documentary released. How will he feel? How will the constitution makers feel? After setting such a great ideology of universal peace and brotherhood for our nation, where are we heading towards? Today we failed as a society. We failed to tackle such inhumane thoughts arising in our society. We failed to punish such culprits in time who is also given 'Right to speech'. We failed to create that fear among those culprits who are continuously degrading our culture on an international platform. It is time for us to Change as a nation. Our judicial system needs a transformation. Let us demand our representatives for a Change in laws and be spot on those who commit crimes against woman. Let us give importance to woman from the moment they had their birth on this mother land. Let us encourage our own shows like Satyamevajayate and get our self aware on the problems in our society before any one else could comment on those. Finally never forget that we represent our country as a mother as a woman and respect all women which shows our culture and heritage which we possess.

Mr. Perfectionist

          He has spent over 25 years in the Hindi film industry, giving action-packed, comedy, romantic and emotional performances; scoring hits and becoming a successful filmmaker. We don't know how he feels about his presence in the film industry for 25 years but we are entertained educated and on the whole he gave a true meaning of entertainment with his films.

             Aamir Khan is undoubtedly one of the finest actors that India had ever produced who paved new ways for creativity. Every film of him showed him as a different human being giving out a new definition for acting. We need thank all the directors for giving our country an actor who is not less than anyone else in the world. He has been a Cricketer with Patriotism in Lagaan, a True Lover in Fanaa, a True Friend who is willing to sacrifice even his life for friendship in Rang De Basanti , an Engineering Student who is an inspiration for all present day students in Three Idiots, a Teacher who is an inspiration for all teachers who cares for their students in Taare Zameen Par, an Innocent Alien in PK and so on... Most importantly he proved himself as a True Human Being through his show Satyamevajayate, which serves as a source of inspiration for today's youth to take over their responsibilities towards the country. He turns 50 today but still look like a fresher starting his career with the same intent and commitment towards his work.

                   An actor, social activist simply Mr. Perfectionist, wish you a Very Happy Birthday sir. We hope you give us lots of treats with your films, inspiration and awareness through our show ' Satyamevajayate '.

Who is a LEADER ?

      Leadership, this is a very familiar word which we come across many times. In simple way a leader is the one who leads a team towards their 'goal' in a 'correct way'. How many of us saw true leaders? As soon as I ask this question at a conference or a gathering, people start thinking about others some time they try making fun by naming others. Did any one of us started seeing an leader in our-self ? Very few might have thought like that, anyway I congratulate all those who at least made an attempt to see a leader in him and I urge them to continue that desire to lead and certainly there will be a day when people accept you and most importantly we need true leaders to take the nation back on track laid by our constitution. Recently I had attended a lecture given by Shri Krishna Murthy, former Election Commissioner of India where he shared his opinion about leadership, problems and challenges in bureaucracy in our country. Mr Krishna Murthy is known for his sincerity, under him election commission successfully conducted various elections of different levels facing various challenges including the threats by politicians. In this article I wanted to share his words which help us to build our-self to be a leader or at least a citizen who is responsible towards his/her country. According to him the prime qualities to be a leader are Art of listening, Art of speaking, Art of taking decisions, Art of questioning and finally patience. Let me explain each of these qualities in my own words may not be as influencing as our former election commissioner but in a way to make you understand the exact sense of his thoughts.

Art Of Listening:

              As a leader you should be able to listen to opinions of your team mates and some times even to the opinions of the one who opposes you. You should be able to understand, analyse their opinions and take a step to improve if is necessary. You should always be ready to face the failures and the negative opinions on your leadership. You should take in all positives from the people around you and drop out the negatives in you. Finally you should never have any ego to appreciate others when they are better than you.

Art Of Speaking: 

             As a leader your way of speaking determines your character. You should be very thoughtful while speaking especially in giving your opinion about something. One should be very high in the language they use, not too emotional and keeping an eye on all feelings. You should not force your decisions on others but you should be able to convince them with out hurting their feelings and thus enhancing the team spirit. Your communication may be your your strength and also weakness, you are the one who should guide it.

Art Of Questioning:

             This shows your real guts as a leader. One should be able to question injustice or some thing wrong committed by any one either superior officers or the ones under you. Your relation with the accused should not effect your decision. At least on your part you should never allow any injustice happening in your reach even at the cost of your position or life. Your life may end at any time and as a leader especially bureaucrat you should leave things for granted even at the cost of your life. This is the one earns you thrust and faith on you by others at least your team. You should be very alert and never let any thing go past your control. You should be bold but not harsh. You can question but the way you question determines the way they answer. A sincere officer or a leader must be ready to face any thing even the worst situation in his life but never loose his/her hope.

Art Of Taking Decisions:

              The decision which you make very important as it influences the others too. Any decision that you take must not create any harm or injustice to others. You should be able to answer the questions raised against your decision. Not only taking the right ones but right time is also very important factor. You should act in time before the train leaves the platform and it is also important that you will not act before the train arrives at the platform. You should be bold in your decisions leaving no scope for personal emotions.

Patience: 

              I may have quoted this quality at last but it accompanies with every quality I have mentioned earlier. You should have patience in listening, patience in explaining, patience in taking decisions and patience in waiting for the results. You should never loose your hope and as quoted in the old saying Try and Try till you reach your GOAL.
