Being Indian...

What are the qualities to be an Indian? I came across some people who use the word Indian for totally appalling reasons . For example public urination, stating this is India and we do it any where, we have that freedom. Not following traffic rules, going in wrong direction, having confidence of evading the charges by bribes. Littering in public. Evading rules. Being dishonest. It seems funny at times but after all this what we have achieved, a country's capital where in a person can not breathe with out additional protection.

We are in such a plight that we are buying fresh air in the form of air purifiers, fresh water in the form of water purifiers. Yet we are unmoved, we still pollute atmosphere by our vehicles, waste, to add to it we have some rituals and other customs polluting air and water. Most of us do not have responsibility in many small things which doesn't need any system or governance but all it needs is a change in our attitude, our mindset and our definition of being Indian. We deserve better. For that we need to step up towards visualising new India. Just Imagine our country with cleaner roads, with honesty, with responsible citizens, statesmen. Its takes nothing but little efforts, wait till dustbin before you throw something, go in right directions, following lane discipline, use public toilets or having more control on our body. While in trains do not use windows as dustbins instead use a baggage and throw near stations or use dustbins. Waste management and also demanding more structured waste management systems from our government. All these doesn't require much effort, it requires right intention and heart of love towards our nation.

Our feeling of nationality shouldn't end in supporting our nation in a sports match or olympics, rather it should be in every day tasks that we do. We need to think on these lines more than being adamant in following on certain outdated religious rituals which does no good to anyone. I am not against any religion but for me, My Country comes before God. I have seen temples where it was maintained so well inside, may be with so much devotion and right outside people urinate. So awful to see such prestigious symbols of our heritage not given the respect they deserve. Even God wouldn't want his land to be corrupt and misused. We need to teach the next generation to salute the nation and nature before God. We should rather teach them right manners than imposing them to follow some nonsense rules. For that we need to be right mannered. Our status symbol should be our responsibility not the way we dress or the car we use. I have seen people travelling in car lowering the window and throwing the waste out. For me he is an illiterate. I have seen people getting down the car and urinating. For me he is an illiterate. I have seen people wearing suit and using audi skipping the traffic signal. He's also an  illiterate. Sad fact is most of these people are educated illiterates. Do we really need some one to teach us common sense? Don't we know the same roads we use daily, the same streets we use daily, the same  country we live in, entire our life, if not us our friends relatives live in the same country. Don't we deserve better society, better place to live? better leaders to govern? If not us our future generations need to see better India. Every year we talk about GDP, and other economic terms, but for the past 70 years we had missed out on basic things which just need every individual's right mindset. Being Indian doesn't mean being irresponsible, doesn't mean misusing freedom, it means carrying the legacy and image that is created by great personalities like Mahatma Gandhi, Abdul Kalam and many others.

This Independence let us pledge towards a change in our attitude and mindset. We should demand for basic needs from our leaders rather than more reservation and money for votes. We should start respecting our environment rather than our superstitions. Jai Hind. Satyamevajayate.

This article might not be well organised but covers really essential points which we need to look into. It's already late. Better late than never. Lets do it...

Stars falling off...

Few weeks back a girl committed suicide as she failed to get admission. It was the prime headlines for almost all media for sometime. There are debates, strikes, politicians of opposition parties attacking present government and then? What is the result? Did anyone of us think about the permanent solution? Why a girl who is able to crack a state based examination unable to crack the national wide exam? It's just an examination, Is examination more precious than her life?
Who is responsible? What is the justice? All these questioned are buried unanswered just like her dreams, may be little later. It's all normal, back to same old style. We lost the plot, yet again failed to resolve the root cause of the problem. This is one which came out of many ambiguous lives some leading their life in the way the world is taking them and some are crushed and trying to end their life. Very few gifted ones following their heart. When I tried to connect all the dots I often end up in our education. Is our education helping us to evaluate ourself? I don't know the answer but I can only say its not helping us to build mental strength to handle failures. It is not helping us in dealing with pressure situations. I had mentioned these points in my previous articles too but more I think on a problem I end up in common point 'Education'. When I say education it includes the physical strength, mental strength, character building. Do we have such a system which helps us to understand our strengths, weaknesses and helps us in improving? Why are we having so many complications in the system, CBSE, ICSE, different state based? Why is our system so examination centered? Forget system, why are we so examination centered? I have come across situations where your personality is evaluated based on your performance in examination. I have seen parents evaluating friends based on the position they stand in the class. Eventually this is creating a mindset in the young minds that life is a failure if they fail in examinations. Some bright stars who are tasting near success are also losing their way. Some who are meant to taste success in other fields are not even allowed to enter the field which they are talented in. On the other hand there are some who acquire success just through money, influence and others. Where is the equal opportunity prescribed in the preamble of our constitution? Quality education is the basic right of every child. Are their rights protected? So many unanswered questions. I hope we find at least some answers soon. I wish that I could bring in change to answer them. I feel as a nation we need to step in and build our basic needs.

I dedicate this article to all those stars those are disappeared from the sky. Hope they disappeared for a cause. Let us make sure that we protect the existing stars. Jai Hind. Satyamevajayate.

The Demonetization Effect

' The Demonetization Effect ' sounds more like a scientific term for me. Some thing like 'The Doppler Effect', for that instance we can draw similarities between the two such as, any movement at the center of the medium creates disturbances in all directions, in the similar way a decision taken by the central government creating disturbances touching every nuke and corner of the country. Forgive me if my comparison is too technical and not an apt one. Coming to demonetization, whether it is good or bad? whether the government is really committed to eradicate corruption? Before I address these questions and effects of demonetization, I wanted to urge on the fact that we need to be open towards change. There was a time when my dad bought a rectangular card to home and said that it can be used to withdraw money from bank without a second person involvement. I thought he was kidding but later realized that it is a fact and today I myself have one. But still there are people in our country who are not aware of this. For that matter there are people in our country who don't have any bank accounts and keep tracks of their savings and income themselves and some of them are exploited due their ignorance. Don't you think that banking services should be available to every citizen of this country? I have come across a situation where a family was left alone after the death of person who had taken the responsibility of the family. The family claims that the person who had passed away saved some of his income for them for future, but there is no record available. This was one situation which came to my notice, can't imagine how many such families are exploited. We need to recognize the importance of banking in our lives. I wanted to thank our government for taking efforts to open a bank account for every citizen of our country. Demonetization is one strong move for cashless economy and make banking a fundamental service rather than a luxury. It helped many to force themselves to open a bank account. It made many to understand the services offered by the banks. It has countered the duplicated notes which are in circulation. When I expressed this particular view, people said that duplication of the new notes are also possible. Yes, but we need to prevent them from circulation, now that it is in our control we can definitely address the problem unlike before. Demonetization has also huge impact on terror funding. Huge amounts of undeclared income has been added to our country's income. We know the impact it had on JanDhan accounts. It is difficult for people in rural places and to people using the banking services for the first time yet it is an opportunity to enhance the banking services and I hope they will eventually and it is also an opportunity for people to embrace the changes into their daily routine making their life more comfortable. I can certainly see decent impact on black money through IT raids, monitoring bank accounts post demonetization. I don't think it has any impact instantly on corruption but it might be an alarm for those who are deeply sunk in corruption and might trigger further actions. I can't talk more on the consequences as it would be too early. I don't wanted to discuss the mess created by oppositions and some opportunists as it would be a disgrace to this article. We need to realize that no magic can bring back the black money and make it rain on the streets of the country, rather it can be done only with a series of steps and hope that demonetization is just a start for a new revolution. Yes I acknowledge the fact that it should have been planned better and measures should have been more rampant in pace. We must also realize that they are also human beings like us who are bound to make mistakes and appreciate the bold step taken by our government and support it. They might have went wrong in their estimations, our support will give them strength to take further actions who are hiding behind the behind the black wall. I also urge government to take immediate measures to handle present situation. Letz 'Hope' for the best.

The above article is my personal view and may differ from others. Not intended to hurt anyone.

Cauvery Clashes - A Dark Spot on our Nationalism.

India is one country which is often hailed by many national leaders at various international platforms for its national integrity despite of having many diversities. India's freedom struggle is a symbol of its national integrity where people of different regions, languages, religions came together to fight for a common cause of attaining freedom to its nation. From there on the journey of India as a nation has achieved many milestones in various fields. But then we had to face some unfortunate incidents in our journey. The recent Cauvery water clashes is a dark spot on our national integrity. India can't afford such clashes anymore. These incidents results in the loss of public and private property, loss is revenue and breakdown of economy. These may also result in loss of lives leaving many families stranded, loosing their livelihood. The recent clashes resulted in severe loss of public and private property. The people who are responsible for these clashes certainly escape but final victims are common citizens. I am certain that the issue is on raise due to those people who wanted to take political advantage on government by creating some disturbance. They provoke those who aren't good enough to understand the situation and just act upon the provocation with out knowing the facts. They revolt to violence which is not the solution for any problem. I was shocked seeing the people from Karnataka taking on vehicles with TN (Tamil Nadu) registration burning them down and vice versa. I can't understand what made them to do so or what made them think that those vehicles are responsible for Supreme court's judgement on Cauvery water. It is senseless and I am unable to describe those shameful acts. Anyway Supreme court is above all in this country and you should certainly follow it's orders and all those who are against some judgement there is a certain procedure to follow to show your disagreement towards some judgement. This is not the way you respond to the apex court's judgement. At the end of the day I wanted to ask all those cowards, what have you gained by this? mere attention by national media and apex court's anger. Nothing has changed much in the judgement. The result is that many companies had lost its revenue, public and private property getting ruthlessly destructed, hatred feelings between the people of Tamilnadu and Karnataka. I am very sure that there is no hatred feelings among most of the people from two states, it is just some politicians and some narrow minded cowards who are responsible to degrade the dignity of the two states and created national security problems. As a nation we help other countries to build their infrastructure. We had helped Afghanistan to build a dam to supply water for irrigation and drinking. We had helped Bangladesh to attain its freedom and also many other situations. We helped Nepal when there was a huge earthquake leaving many families stranded on streets. Now, when Supreme court say to release water for Tamilnadu for few days, there is a huge protests, revolts and violence. We help other countries, can't we help our own neighboring states. We exchange many between states such as electricity, rice grains and even man power. Many of us are born somewhere, educated somewhere and finally will settle somewhere else, after all these why these differences. We need to understand that these differences are created by those coward people seeking a personal benefits. Certainly we don't have any problems among us. We should rise above all these differences like caste, religion, region and language and unite and fight against those evil forces prevailing in our society since ages who are responsible to create differences and violence for their personal benefits and recognition. All those who are waiting for an opportunity to take advantage, create differences and revolt to violence, It's time for you to grow up and make your identity in helping our nation to rise. We are Indians, We are ONE...
