Opportunities Vs Reservation System.

There are innumerable discussions and debates on reservation system. Some of us support the system and some of us oppose the system but there will never be a satisfactory conclusion. It is always an endless debate. We always tend to forget the roots of these reservation system and we always argue considering only some cases in the present scenario. This is system is the effect of the illogical caste system and other differences created in our society long back. Even today there are people in our country who are abandoned. There are some so called priests who try and show their supremacy over some minorities in our community. The present reservation system is introduced for the uplift of these backward classes of the society to reduce inequalities and social barriers like caste system. Unfortunately the people’s representatives are using these inequalities for their vote bank. The point is the reservation system which is used to the uplift of one section of society should not make the other sections deprived of their opportunities. So we should create equal opportunities to each individual of the society. Suppose in educational sector we should take care that each and every child born in this country should have equal opportunity to study irrespective of their economical background. There should be regularization of school fee and better infrastructure so that everyone can be blessed by knowledge. We can also follow a system where each individual paying educational tax according to his income which is later used for the education of the younger generation. Unfortunately the government schools are in a pathetic situation and no one is willing to join or collaborate with government to improve the facilities for education of under privileged sections of society. It is very disgusting to see government which is not concerned with primary and secondary education suddenly introduces reservation system in case of higher education without a justified base. They should understand that every child born in India has equal right of education that is every child has a right to study in IIT’s and it is the responsibility of government to provide such education. More over they should improve the standards and we should go beyond the present IIT’s. We should question ourselves. Are the graduates which we produce can compete with the world? We should not satisfy with one odd case. As a nation we should produce such engineers, scientists and researchers in mass numbers at the same time they should be loyal to the country. We have seen one such great scientist ‘ Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam’ and we have many in the past. We need much so as to benefit more than hundred crore population. We need those scientists who carry out their research on various problems which are faced by our country and engineers who try and implement the solutions and most importantly representatives to finally deal with the problems. All these can only happen with value based education. I have seen many students flying abroad for their higher studies as they are unable to tackle here due to lack of opportunities and finally settle abroad which a serious loss. We have seen many Indians doing wonders abroad. Whenever we see such Indians who are doing well in abroad we all feel proud and showcase the news item but we never think why he is unable to do it here. It is because of lack of facilities. They are many unanswered questions. Is the vision of the reservation system being fulfilled?  Are all the people who gets benefited are really economically backward? Why are we not concentrating on increased discrimination in the states like Haryana? Why IIT's could not meet the standards of MIT? Is still caste based reservation system the right choice? Is this reservation system increasing discrimination? Why the student flying abroad? Is reservation needed for post graduation programmes like M-Tech, MBA; Public sector services and especially civil services after providing reservation for under graduate level? Are the students who are benefited using the opportunity given to them? Anyone who can answer the above questions and justify me that our education system is right I am ready to salute them and do whatever they wish me to do.

Our Prime minister proposed new ideas such as Make in India, Digital India, Swach Bharath Abhayaan etc. These activities can only be successful if we have a change in our educational system. We should not forget that the education is the base for any sector to improve. Hope our leaders will bring in fruitful changes in our system so that we can rise as a nation. It is already late and we can not delay. Jai Hind. Satyamevajayate.
