The recent news of leakage of EAMCET examination in Telangana has shattered the whole student and parent community in the state. Finally government of the state has taken a call to cancel the examination and re conduct it again. There are reports from CID that more than 200 students are beneficiaries of the leakage. There were many officials involved and each student has spent around INR 50,00,000. Now let us see this in a different view. Just think, what made those students spent so much, what made them so greedy about the ranks, parents who need to guide their children had misguided them with the greed for ranks and marks. It shows the level of greediness for marks. No matter how they come, parents just need marks, ranks. In fact the whole society needs just final scores. This in one of the reasons which forces students to commit malpractices in examinations to get marks and ranks. It is very unfortunate that parents are also part of such malpractices in the recent EAMCET scam. This is clearly the failure of the education system we follow. This system gives emphasis to final scores than actual knowledge one has gained. The student is also trained to face the examination but not trained to apply knowledge he has gained. Even the parents are not bothered about the knowledge their children gained but only bothered about the final scores. This was not the case with only engineering or medical entrance examination but this is the case right from the start of the education. This leakage scam alarms all of us about the system we follow today. It is not that only those 200 students are corrupted in their mind but most of the students are corrupted, it is only that they are not caught or didn't get a chance. This is the failure of our system in building our character and consensus. This is a failure of the system in making us interested in gaining knowledge rather than marks or ranks. This is a failure of our system in testing the actual knowledge of a particular individual. Simply this is commercialization of education. Education should be knowledge centered, not money centered or marks centered. It should focus on our character building and give us the strength of decision making rather than focusing on jobs and money making. System should be able to capture the interests and strengths of a particular student and train him to achieve perfection in those areas irrespective of subjects or sports. Hope we see a system focusing on education with values, system which emphasis on quality rather than quantity.
Jai Hind. Satyamevajayate.
