The Professor's woes

I strongly believe that the solutions to the problems which we face as a nation can be achieved only through education with values. The source of such value added education is ‘Guru’. The education will be complete if we have good teachers. The aim of a professor should be creating creative individuals who can try and change the phase of the country respecting the values of the country, but not to hike his salary. A professor should be concentrating on creating interest, but today it seems that they themselves do not have any interest. It is harsh to blame them alone. Again it is the system which has to be blamed. This system is not encouraging the professors who are really interested and had that passion to teach but they wanted professors who had good qualifications and who don’t really understand the students and who don’t put efforts to create interest among the students. Most of the professors today are carrying their profession as a duty imposed on them for which they are taking salary but not as a responsibility.

Most of the professors are forced to do their PhD’s just for the reputation of the institution which is acting as a burden to them and as a result they are losing interest in creating interest among students. Adding to these they have bonus in the form of management work. Especially in private institutions the professors are not even respected and are not recognized. There are always those dirty politics accompanying in promotions, salary hikes etc. With all these the bonus comments from students. Do you want to be a professor? Yes I want and I want to be that ‘Change’ which can change the system. I dedicate this article to those professors and school teachers who inspired me and created interest in me despite of their burdens. Hope we can see more Abdul Kalams and Radhakrishnas . Jai Hind. Satyamevajayate.
